Director's Message

The Master of Social Sciences in Nonprofit Management programme is designed to train leaders in the nonprofit sector in Asia/Pacific countries, Greater China, and throughout the world. With vibrant economic and social development in the east, there is an active movement in the region where public, private, and philanthropic forces are converging to create shared value.

This curriculum goes beyond the traditional scope of non-profit management to address cutting edge developments in the context of public and social innovations, strategic problem-solving, impact philanthropy, capacity enhancement as well as effective leadership, financial planning, social branding, organizational and social entrepreneurship. This programme will be taught by a strong team of prominent local and international academic experts and practitioners. Graduates of this programme will be equipped with both theoretical knowledge, and practice skills competences for career advancement in the philanthropic field.

Distinctive Features

The MSocSc (NPM) programme is the first master degree in nonprofit management in Hong Kong to enhance nonprofit developments in the Asia-Pacific area and the world. To train leaders in civil society and particularly the nonprofit sector in Asia/Pacific countries, this programme

  • offers cross disciplinary teaching and studies to enrich the diversity of the nonprofit sector; 
  • focuses on the nonprofit facet in various industries, advocating multi-disciplinary collaborations and creative innovations on nonprofit management;
  • emphasizes interaction and experience sharing between students and teachers and creating an extensive knowledge sharing platform;
  • adopts an intensive semester mode to facilitate student balance between work and study; and
  • connects nonprofit leaders to share experiences and insights to deepen students’ knowledge and practical competence

The Programme has provided scholarships to high caliber applicants with half/full fee and/or living expense support.
